The need on the ground:
These statistics are further compounded by the practical needs that the AIDS endemic pose. Most families who suffer from AIDS soon lack not only mom and dad, but many of the smaller children fall victim through breast-feeding by infected moms. This means that most children who are aids orphans have siblings who are separated into different homes. At present, we are the only home in Nairobi (that we are aware of) which has a program developed to specifically cater to the needs of families of orphans. As of August, 2008, we have six sets of syblings at Kings Kids Village.

The need of fatherhood in Kenya:
Most Kenyans grow up with either dis-functional fathers or not ever knowing their fathers. We believe that dis-functional fatherhood plays a huge role in the socio-economic problems which bear much responsibility for the Aids endemic in Africa. Our vision at Kings Kids Village goes far beyond the band-aid of providing a nice environment and good education for each child God sends our way. We are seeking stable fathers, who, each with their wife, will raise these children in the character and grace that will enable them to be part of the solution to this endemic. Please pray for us that we will find the right couples to fulfill this vision. As of now, we have two sets of parents. Our two fathers are providing a great example to the kids of all four homes of Christian fatherhood as they assist the moms in our other two apartments in example and instruction.
